You knew you wanted to do this in college, but never had the money, never had the time, did not overcome the inertia -- but now years later, the kids have left the house (or maybe even your spouse if you had one), you just might have the time to break away, take a sabbatical, and you can find some resources to actually do this! That's where this resource might help.
Do you just buy a plane ticket and go somewhere? Or maybe it is more complicated, especially, if you are not planning on returning in a few weeks. What about costs? What about your home in the United States? What about medical care abroad? What about visas for extended stays? How do you connect with others when you arrive? How do you find something more than a hotel or BNB? How do you avoid being perceived as a tourist or other outsider?
Why .club? Because travel abroad is a very special club of people, most have unique interests in exploring new environments and meeting people outside of their usual milleu. So in a sense, we are a little like a club. So for now, it is simply a collection of information, but we hope to build this into an organization.
